Trnava University has been a proud member of the Erasmus+ programme since 1998. We are pleased to host international academic and administrative staff who wish to participate in mobility for teaching or training purposes. Our university is committed to fostering international cooperation, exchanging best practices, and building strong academic partnerships. Mobility is usually carried out through the Erasmus+ programme or based on bilateral agreements.
Step-by-Step Guide to Application Submission
A.1 Employees Applying through the Slovak Scholarship Programme
Detailed information about study and research opportunities available to international students in Slovakia can be found at https://www.studyinslovakia.saia.sk/. The website provides an overview of funding options, universities, study programmes, and practical advice for living and studying in Slovakia.
The Slovak Scholarship Programme is administered by the Slovak Academic Information Agency (SAIA). Trnava University has no influence over the selection of candidates and does not handle programme administration.
Application Procedure
Check the eligibility criteria and follow the instructions provided at https://www.scholarships.sk/.
One of the requirements is obtaining an Acceptance Letter from your chosen university.
If you have selected Trnava University, please complete and submit the form (hyperlink below) together with the following documents: Curriculum Vitae (CV), Motivation Letter, Confirmation of Employment from your home institution. Upload these as attachments in the online application form.
Conditionally accepted applicants will receive an Acceptance Letter, which will be sent both to the applicant via email and in original form to the Slovak National Agency. After selection by the National Agency, contact the International Relations Office at international@truni.sk.
Follow the instructions provided by your home university and then submit your mobility application.
A.2 Freemover Employee
A Freemover is an employee who undertakes teaching or training abroad independently, outside official exchange programmes such as Erasmus+.
Freemovers are responsible for arranging their own acceptance, funding, and logistics.
Trnava University welcomes Freemover employees within the framework of exchange visits.
Application Procedure
Send an email to international@truni.sk including: Curriculum Vitae (CV), Motivation Letter, Confirmation of Employment from your home institution
Follow the instructions provided by the host university and then submit your mobility application.
A.3 Other Types of Mobility
If you wish to participate in a mobility programme at Trnava University through another scheme (other than Erasmus+ or the Freemover option), please research available mobility opportunities.

Application Procedure
1. Application
All details of your stay must be verified and confirmed by the faculty you intend to visit.
After confirmation, please complete and submit a short information form. Based on this form, the Office for External Relations and Mobility (IRO) will provide you with information about Trnava, travel, and social activities.
2. Invitation Letter
If required by your home university or for visa purposes, we can issue an official Invitation Letter. Please inform us if this applies to you.
3. Preparation for Departure
Accommodation
TRUNI offers a limited number of places for visitors at the Petra Pázmaňa Dormitory, located at Rybníková 13/A, Trnava (city centre). If you wish to stay in this dormitory, please indicate your preference in the application form.
Due to limited capacity, we will inform you in advance whether you have been allocated a room. A price list for visitors is available under Truni International > Important Documents > Dormitories Petra Pázmaňa – Price List.
The dormitory includes a self-service laundry room operated by payment card. An iron and drying rack are available at the reception.
Upon arrival at the dormitory reception, you will need a valid ID card or passport and must complete the registration form for the Foreign Police (Truni International > Important Documents > Residence Reporting – ENG). To save time, you can download, fill out, and sign the form in advance and bring it with you.
Health Insurance
We strongly recommend arranging commercial health and travel insurance valid for the entire duration of your stay in Slovakia. Citizens of the EU, EEA, and Switzerland should bring their European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) issued by their national health insurance provider.
Visa Requirements
Please ensure you meet all the entry conditions for Slovakia. More information about visa requirements can be found under Welcome Center > Visa. Citizens of the EU, EEA, and Switzerland do not require a visa to enter Slovakia.
Internet
Wi-Fi access via eduroam is available on university premises, including faculties and dormitories. If you already have an eduroam account from your home university, you can use it here as well. Individual Wi-Fi networks are also available in visitor rooms, but please note that these are not suitable for streaming videos or movies.
