On October 7, 2026, students tried out the digital games from the Heritage Game project at the KreativEU international student festival in Trnava. While playing, they learned about the project and its goal: to engage local communities in exploring and interpreting cultural heritage through game-based tasks and digital tools.

The game “Discover Úľany Wetland” is available on the Heritage Game project portal; it guides visitors along the nature trail near Pusté Úľany. It was developed in collaboration between the University of Trnava and the organization Pre Úľany – Pro Fudemus, n. o. Through seven stops, it introduces the wetland environment and explains how both natural processes and human activity have shaped the local landscape.

The Blended Intensive Program (BIP)—a combined intensive program under the Erasmus+ program—explores the relationships between nature, culture, and the landscape through interdisciplinary education.

The game *Across the Frontier: Romans and Germans in Cifer-Pac* has been released on the gaming portal of the international Heritage Game project. Trnava University in Trnava collaborated with the Cífer-Pác Archeopark on its development. It guides visitors through a site that, in late antiquity, lay beyond the northern border of the Roman Empire. However, it does not offer a simplistic narrative of “Germans versus Romans.” Instead, it shows what was actually found at the site, how the findings are interpreted by experts, and where there is still room for questions.

Who “owns” the past? Is heritage something that can be locked away in a repository, described in a catalog, and displayed as an ancient artifact—or is it rather a living relationship between people, places, and the stories we collectively tell, explore, add to, and pass on? It is precisely this question that lies at the heart of what has been referred to in recent years as the participatory turn in cultural heritage work.

Zástupcovia Trnavskej univerzity sa v rámci programu Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) Historical Cities and Sustainable Communities zúčastnili medzinárodného vzdelávacieho podujatia organizovaného partnerskou univerzitou Valahia University of Târgoviște. Trnavskú univerzitu na programe reprezentovali doc. Lucia Nováková z Katedry klasickej archeológie, PhDr. Henrieta Žažová z Ústavu dejín, Erasmus koordinátorka pre medzinárodné mobility Eva Matejovičová Filipová a dvaja študenti pedagogickej fakulty Beáta Gavlasová a Filip Holický. Program bol zameraný na ochranu kultúrneho dedičstva, udržateľný rozvoj miest a medzinárodnú akademickú spoluprácu.
