The ERASMUS+ program enables academic staff to carry out short-term teaching visits at partner universities abroad. The program supports the exchange of expertise and teaching experience while contributing to the improvement of educational and research quality at universities.

Mobility Characteristics

Depending on the nature of the research activities, mobility can be defined as a combination of Mobility for Teaching (STA) or Mobility for Training (STT). It may also take the form of an individualised type of teaching or training mobility and is carried out on the basis of bilateral agreements (IIA) between partner universities (LINK: section Truni International > Agreements and Partnerships). The teacher’s or doctoral student’s programme at the host institution must be agreed upon in advance in the form of a Mobility for Teaching Agreement (LINK: Truni International > Important Documents > Higher Education Mobility Agreement – Teaching KA131–KA171–2023_en) or a Mobility for Training Agreement (LINK: Truni International > Important Documents > Higher Education Mobility Agreement – Training KA131–KA171–2025_en). For this type, however, a bilateral agreement is not required.

Objectives of Staff Mobility

  • Preparation and presentation of an output or project of added value with defined priorities in the field of internationalisation for the department or faculty (during the mobility, a foundation for further international cooperation projects within ERASMUS+ is created – with a clearly defined and measurable output).

  • Refinement of study content within institutions for ERASMUS+ students.

  • Exchange and development of professional expertise and experience among university staff.

  • Enhancement of educational and research quality at universities through multidimensional international experience of higher education professionals.

  • Integration of knowledge and experience gained through mobility into the process of innovation within various aspects of academic life.

Conditions for Completing a Mobility

A prerequisite for participating in Erasmus+ mobility for research purposes is the successful completion of the selection procedure announced on the website of the respective faculty.

Before the Mobility
Once accepted for mobility, the staff member coordinates with the faculty or departmental coordinator and the partner university. The process results in signing the Mobility Programme for Teaching or Training Purposes.

The mobility programme must be signed by the outgoing staff member or doctoral student, their supervisor, and a representative of the host university.

The recommended duration of mobility is a maximum of 5 working days (excluding travel days), with a minimum duration of 2 working days.

The participant is required to arrange adequate insurance according to the current project requirements. The minimum requirement includes coverage of medical expenses abroad. The participant must also report their business trip to the respective faculty officer before the mobility begins.

After the Mobility

  • At the International Relations Office (IRO), the participant must submit:
    - Confirmation of Mobility Duration

  • At the Financial Department of the respective faculty, the participant must submit:
    - Confirmation of Mobility Duration
    - Grant Agreement
    - Documents for the settlement of the business trip abroad
