Our IRO team can help you arrange accommodation in the university dormitory based on your expressed interest. All you need to do is indicate your interest by filling out the registration form. After that, you will receive detailed instructions from the IRO team about the next steps, which you can also find here:

Before Arrival

Seven days before your planned arrival, please send an email to international@truni.sk with the exact date and time of your arrival at the dormitory.

Since the dormitory staff may not speak English, if we know your arrival date and time in advance, we can ensure that your room keys are ready for you and that an IRO team member or buddy student will be available to assist you upon arrival.

On the Day of Arrival

Pick up your room keys at the information desk in the main hall. Show your ID card or passport at the information desk and sign your arrival form.

Check-in Procedure

Within the first two weeks after your arrival, you will need to visit the International Relations Office (IRO) to sign your Accommodation Agreement.
The IRO will schedule a specific date and time for you. During this process, a buddy student will assist you. You will sign the accommodation agreement at Mrs. Baranová’s office, located in the dormitory building. You will also receive your student accommodation card (dormitory card) and a checklist with items that should be in your room and for which you are responsible.

Before signing the contract, you must pay your first accommodation fee plus a deposit at the office next to Mrs. Sedláková. The monthly fee is €110, and the deposit is €100. You will also receive information about payment methods. The deposit will be refunded to you upon check-out if your room is left in the same condition.

Accommodation payments are made monthly, usually before the 20th of each month (for example, the October rent should be paid by September 20). You may also pay for the entire semester in advance - e.g., €330 for 3 months (Erasmus stay).
Payments can be made in cash or by bank transfer to the dormitory’s account, Mrs. Baranová will give you the details.

Check-out Procedure

Seven days before your planned departure, you must inform the International Relations Office (IRO) about the exact date and time of your check-out.
This allows us to ensure that a buddy student or dormitory staff member will be available to assist you. Check-outs are possible only on working days (Monday–Friday) between 8:00 and 11:00 a.m.

The check-out process has two stages:

  1. Physical check-out - The dormitory technician or cleaner will inspect your room to ensure it’s in the same condition as when you arrived. Before this, please make sure you have:

    • Taken out the trash

    • Cleaned the bathroom

    • Defrosted and cleaned the fridge

    • Vacuumed and tidied the room

    • Washed the floor

    • Returned all borrowed items to the cleaning staff

  2. Administrative check-out - At Mrs. Baranová’s office, you will sign the dormitory check-out form, return your dormitory card and keys. Don’t forget to hand in the checklist signed by the technician and the cleaner. Your buddy student can also assist you during the check-out. The whole process will take only a few minutes. You must also make sure that all payments due to the dormitory are settled. Mrs. Sedláková will return your deposit.
