Student life is one of the core pillars of the university experience. At Trnava University, two main organisations take care of both local and international students - the Student Council of Trnava University and ESN Trnava (Erasmus Student Network).
Student Council of Trnava University
The Student Council is a civic association of Trnava University that serves as an advisory body to the rector and represents students at the university level.
Members of the Council are responsible for organising many student clubs and leisure activities that students can join and participate in.
The list of clubs may vary each semester, as new activities are regularly created by students themselves. The most up-to-date list is always available on the Student Council’s Instagram account (see image below, section “Kluby 2024”).
For international student – we recommend contacting the Student Council via their Instagram account to check how well the club and group leaders can communicate in English, as these activities were originally organised for local students.
The Council also organises other events such as tutoring, Minifestival of Opportunities, and Coffee for Your Opinion. One of the newest events is Stromčeky príležitostí (“Trees of Opportunities”). Some activities are aimed at helping first-year bachelor’s students adapt to university life (see Survival Guide), while others focus on broader university experiences and student community.
For more information, contact the Student Council directly via their Instagram Account.
ESN Trnava
Members of the Trnava branch of ESN (Erasmus Student Network) are one of the first points of contact for foreign students, lecturers, or other administrative staff participating in visits or mobility programs at Trnava University.
These volunteers not only introduce the university and the city, services, and important contacts, but also organize various activities for students, such as Adventure Train, where foreign students can discover the beauty of Slovakia while traveling by train. Trips are particularly popular, e.g. to one of the most beautiful regions of Slovakia – the High Tatras, or other parts of Slovakia and abroad.
On a regular basis, they organize workshops with foreign students, educational activities related to Slovak culture, cuisine, customs, traditions, and much more. The offer varies and is diverse every year.
Mision #1
The key mission of the Erasmus program is not only to study abroad, but also to promote intercultural dialogue and build interpersonal relationships across continents. ESN members are the cornerstone of this mission, and thanks to their efforts, any foreign place can be perceived as familiar and close. Friendships formed during exchange stays continue even after the stay has ended.
Working at ESN enriches students, and the activity pays off in the form of time spent in a diverse community of people from different parts of the world. If you like the job description, YOU too can become part of this great team - there are only two conditions - English at a communicative level and a desire to help!
Don't hesitate to contact the ESN Trnava coordinators and find out what membership has to offer.
ESN Trnava is a proud partner of TRUNI International, the IRO team, and administrators of the Trnava University TikTok account. Contact information for ESN Trnava management and details of activities can be found on their official Instagram account.
